Studies In Foreshortening

At the time of this work ,my eye and interest was focused on the visual play of foreshortening. The the shape of the human body is static, through the 2 dimensional art of photography it can been seen in an infinite variety of shapes. This captures at times, and so inspired the work with Javier. What I think adds wonderfully to the work is Javier’s personal touches on expression and, the inclusion of a part of his history. The bamboo stick’s value is not only as a focal point, playing with depth of field but too as a representation of a journey up one of the mountains of Japan. Each brand on the stick represents a post along the way.
